China Mobile IoT Card Subscribers Exceed 11 Million

China Mobile has explored a lot in IoT industry and laid a foundation for the development of IoT, Li Huidi, EVP of China Mobile, said at MWCS 2016 (Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2016).

China Mobile has launched dedicated IoT for public services and got over 11 million IoT card subscribers. It strengthens independent R&D of modules and development of own-brand car machine and OBD terminals. In addition, it has constructed IoT Open Platform OneNET which has taken effect.

IoT Open Platform OneNET provides open-source developing environment for SME developers and a manageable, controllable big data platform for enterprises. Moreover, China Mobile offers public IoT services, facing devices accessed to cellular network, which are featured by massive connections, long distance, high reliability and flexible billing.

Li Huidi pointed out that IoT will become an important force to drive mobile communication development in the next five years.
