China Mobile unveiled its 2026 third-quarter results on October 20. Operating revenue for the quarter came in at RMB242.3 billion, down 3.4% from a year earlier. Core business revenue fell 5.1% to RMB205.1 billion, while other business revenue rose 7.2% to RMB37.2 billion. Total profit dropped 13.4% to RMB34.4 billion, and net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company slid 12.2% to RMB27.3 billion. Net profit after deducting non-recurring gains and losses edged down 0.2% to RMB28.7 billion. The net profit margin attributable to the parent company narrowed 1.1 percentage points to 11.3% from 12.4% a year earlier.
For the first nine months, operating revenue totaled RMB780.3 billion, down 1.8% year on year. Core business revenue fell 3.7% to RMB657.7 billion, while other business revenue grew 9.9% to RMB122.6 billion. Total profit declined 9.1% to RMB133.5 billion, and net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company fell 7.9% to RMB106.2 billion. Net profit after deducting non-recurring gains and losses was down 8.1% at RMB98.4 billion. The net profit margin attributable to the parent company stood at 13.6%, down 0.9 percentage points from 14.5% a year earlier.
Net cash flow from operating activities, however, rose 15.1% to RMB185.3 billion in the first three quarters, up from RMB161.0 billion a year earlier. Equity attributable to shareholders of the parent company edged up 0.2% to RMB139.6 billion, and total assets grew 1.0% to RMB2,113.8 billion from RMB2,092.9 billion.
On the subscriber side, China Mobile had 1.014 billion mobile customers, 702 million 5G customers and 342 million broadband internet customers as of the end of September, along with 1.497 billion Internet of Things connections.
