On May 13, China successfully launched the Experimental Communication Technology Satellite 19 from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center using the Long March 3C carrier rocket. The satellite successfully entered its predetermined orbit, marking a complete success for the mission.
The Experimental Communication Technology Satellite 19 was developed by the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. It is primarily designed to conduct verification of multi-band, high-speed satellite communication technologies. In recent years, the launch pace of China's experimental communication technology satellites has significantly accelerated, with a concentrated phase of verification planned for 2024 to 2025.
In February 2024, Experimental Communication Technology Satellite 11 was successfully launched, followed by the launches of Satellites 12 and 13 in December of the same year. The year 2025 has beening witnessing explosive growth, with Satellites 14 through 17 being launched successively from January to April, showcasing China's capability for rapid iteration in satellite communication technology.
