CAICT Releases Eight Key Trends in AI Development

Updated:2025/7/28 17:37

Today, the WAIC 2025 forum on "Large Models Shaping a New Global Industrial Order" kicked off at the West Bund in Xuhui, Shanghai. During the event, Liao Yunfa, Deputy Director of the CAICT East China Branch, summarized the latest AI development trends with eight key insights:

Omnimodal Large Models
AI large models will continue to expand their ability to process multimodal data types, enhancing their understanding and generation capabilities of the real world.

Optimized Computing Power Operations
While global computing chip shipments continue to rise and the construction of AI computing centers remains vigorous, some computing resources suffer from low utilization and supply-demand mismatches. The focus of the computing power market will shift to operational optimization, with models such as computing power interconnectivity, efficient scheduling, AI cloud services, and industry-specific computing empowerment expected to flourish.

High-Quality Datasets
High-quality datasets are the core fuel for AI development. Many companies are now investing in dataset capability building, ensuring stable iteration to keep pace with the rapid evolution of AI technologies.

Agentic AI
The AI agent market holds immense potential. Future developments will accelerate toward autonomous, goal-driven, interactive, and adaptive Agentic AI, driving transformative changes in AI application paradigms.

Intelligent New-Terminal Devices
Large models are revolutionizing traditional terminal capabilities. Smart devices are becoming key drivers of added value in manufacturing, allowing manufacturing powerhouses like China to fully leverage their advantages in the AI era, propelling "Made in China" toward "Intelligent Manufacturing in China."

Borderless AI Science
AI is driving quantitative changes in scientific research paradigms while breaking disciplinary boundaries to achieve qualitative leaps in exploration. In the future, anyone could become a cross-disciplinary scientist.

One-Person Companies
AI technology is accelerating changes in entrepreneurial models. The rise of intelligent tools will usher in a golden age of "solo entrepreneurship," similar to the early days of the internet. Lower barriers to entry will spark a new wave of mass entrepreneurship.

AI Professional Services
Professional services can provide high-value-added support for AI industry development, yet such enterprises remain relatively scarce in the AI supply chain. As professional services enhance their own AI capabilities, they will better serve AI companies, opening vast opportunities for AI-specialized professional services in the future.
