China Mobile released its customer data for the first quarter of 2025 yesterday. As of March 31, 2025, the total number of China Mobile customers reached 1.003 billion, with a net decrease of 936,000 customers for the quarter. Notably, the number of 5G network users reached 578 million. In the first quarter, mobile internet data usage increased by 7.7% year over year, with data usage per user (DOU) reaching 16.1GB, marking an 8.0% increase. The average revenue per user (ARPU) for mobile services was 46.9 RMB.
In the home market, as of March 31, 2025, the total number of wireline broadband customers hit 320 million, with a net addition of 5.478 million customers for the quarter. Of these, home broadband customers numbered 282 million, reflecting a quarterly net increase of 4.45 million customers. For the first quarter, the comprehensive ARPU for household customers was 40.8 RMB, representing a 2.3% year-over-year increase.
