From January to June 2022, the three carriers saw steady growth in the number of mobile phone subscribers, most notably 5G plan subscribers, MIIT said in its latest report 2022H1 Economic Performance of Communication Industry.
Till the end of this June, the top three telecom companies embraced 1.67 billion mobile phone subscribers, up 25.52 million from last December. 5G plan subscribers expanded 100.55 million to 455 million, representing 27.3% of mobile phones with a 5.7% increase in the corresponding period.
