China Mobile has announced the eligible candidates for centralized procurement of new SPN equipment from 2021 to 2022, and Huawei, ZTE and Fiberhome are shortlisted.
In this new SPN project, Huawei has gained 41.40%, ZTE gained 36.48% and Fiberhome Telecommunication gained 22.12% of the share. According to the tender offer and share, the scale of this procurement is about RMB 2.351 billion (for 26 provinces and cities).
With the start of this SPN new bidding, the commercialization of 5G of China Mobile will accelerate moving forward. In 2021, China Mobile will adhere to multi-frequency coordination and precise construction, and continue to forge a 5G high-quality network. It is planned to build about 120,000 new 2.6GHz base stations. By the end of 2021, 510,000 stations will be built excluding 700MHz 5G base stations in addition to the 390,000 stations already built in 2020. Furthermore, China Mobile plans to jointly purchase more than 400,000 700MHz base stations with China Broadcast Network, which will be completed and put into operation between 2021 and 2022.
