Huawei announced yesterday a resolution on intelligent auto parts business management issued by Ren Zhengfei with 3 years of validity. The resolution makes it clear that Huawei does not build complete vehicles, but focuses on ICT to help auto companies build better vehicles and become an incremental component supplier for intelligent networked vehicles.
The resolution reveals a series of actions taken by Huawei: removing IAS BU from the ICT Business Management Committee to the consumer business management committee and appointing Wang Tao as a member of the latter committee; restructuring the Consumer BG IRB into the Intelligent Terminals and Auto Parts IRB, removing to it the intelligent auto parts investment decision and portfolio management from the ICT IRB, and appointing Yu Chengdong as its director.
The resolution also proposes that whoever suggests carmaking again to undermine the company may be removed from their post.
