On March 11, Huawei officially launched the Pocket WiFi X. At the launch event, Shanghai Mobile announced the pre-commercial launch of its high-uplink network capabilities and kicked off the High-Uplink Network Pioneer Program to accelerate the upgrade of mobile network experience in the 5G-A era.
Positioned as a "super live streaming tool", the Pocket WiFi X supports an ultra-high uplink peak rate of over 1Gbps. It can automatically identify application scenarios such as live streaming, prioritize uplink bandwidth allocation, and deliver stable and smooth experiences for live streamers.To support the rollout of Pocket WiFi X across Shanghai and sustain high-quality network services for live streaming users, Shanghai Mobile has fully upgraded its 5G-A high-uplink network. The uplink 1Gbps capability has been activated at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, providing robust network support for the launch event and the AWE exhibition.
Moving forward, Shanghai Mobile will advance the commercial deployment of the high-uplink network in phases and to high standards. In Phase 1, the company will adjust time-slot allocation and scale up the deployment of FA SUL technology, achieving 1Gbps uplink peak rates in benchmark areas. In Phase 2, it will build a 1,000-station high-uplink network inside the Outer Ring Road, realizing full 1Gbps uplink peak coverage in the core urban area, so that citizens and industries across Shanghai can fully share the benefits of high-uplink networks.
The launch of Shanghai Mobile's pre-commercial 5G-A high-uplink network marks a new milestone in its efforts to consolidate the digital infrastructure and empower all sectors of society.
