State Administration of Radio Film and Television(SARFT) released “the bulletin of cable TV industry development in China for the second quarter of 2018” . According to the data, in the first half of this year, cable TV segment continued to lose blood, the audience share dropped to 52.35%,down by 2.46% compared with that in the end of 2017; and accelerated loss of users and other factors led the TV&BROADCAST INTERMEDIARY CO., LTD to make a loss for the first time.
On the other hand, although wired broadband service had made some improvements, it was also "unsatisfactory". The statistics show that in the second quarter of this year, the net number of broadband subscribers increased 1.926 million by 5.3 percent, with a total number of 38.258 million, and the broadband penetration rate further increased to 16.36%.
