According to a report by China Academy of Information and Communication Technology (CAICT), by March 2020, the total shipments of mobile phone in domestic market reach 21.75 million units, down 23.3% year-on-year. Among them, the volume of 5G mobile phone reached 6.21 million units. It is worth mentioning that March saw the highest monthly shipments of 5G phone so far.
Specifically, it consists of 698,000 units of 2G phone, 14.84 million units of 4G phone and 6.21 million units of 5G phone. The total shipment of mobile phone in the domestic market from January to March 2020 has reached 48.95 million units, a decrease of 36.4% year on year, including 1.08 million 2G phones, 33.8 million of 4G phones and 14.06 million of 5G phones.
39 new models have been released in March, reduced by 25% compared with the same period of last year, including 4 models of 2G phones, 11 4G phones and 24 5G phones.
