On July 18, China Telecom officially launched its first self-branded AI smartphone, the Maimang 30 5G, marking the Maimang brand's entry into the AI era. The newly released Maimang 30 comprehensively showcases how AI technology empowers and innovates smartphone terminals, and serves as a concentrated display of China Telecom's AI capabilities through its Xingchen large model.
The launch event was themed "AI: Infinite Rebirth," with AI being the core keyword in the Maimang 30 introduction. Dubbed the "First AI-Powered Smartphone," this is the bold slogan given by China Telecom.
Tang Ke, Deputy General Manager of China Telecom, stated at the launch event that Maimang has always relied on its strong product capabilities and has been well-received by consumers. The intent behind creating the Maimang 30, China Telecom's first self-branded AI smartphone, is to help users experience innovative technology ahead of time with high-quality products that keep pace with trends. This initiative embodies the spirit of bold attempts and the courage to challenge norms, continually interpreting the youthful energy of "fearless growth."
The Maimang 30 is the first to feature China Telecom's self-developed Xingchen large model, Tianyi Cloud Disk AI version, voice-activated telecom services, and other AI functionalities, making it even smarter than existing smartphones. For instance, users can directly interact with the voice assistant to recharge accounts or check data usage, eliminating the hassle of navigating through multiple app menus.
Pre-orders for the Maimang 30 began on the same day, with the 8+256GB version priced at 1,999 RMB and the 12+256GB version priced at 2,199 RMB. Since the launch of the Maimang A199 in 2013, the Maimang series has been around for eleven years. Today, Maimang ranks as the top carrier-owned brand in the Chinese market, with over 20 million units shipped.
