Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the Report on the economic operation of the communication industry in January-August 2022. In terms of the development of telecommunications users, at the end of August, the total number of fixed broadband access users of the three telecommunications companies reached 571 million, showing a net increase of 35.23 million over the end of the previous year. Among others, users of fixed broadband with an access rate of 100Mbps and above reached 536 million, accounting for 93.8% of the total number of users.
The data also indicate a steady increase in the number of mobile phone users, in which 5G users account for nearly 30%. At the end of August, the total number of mobile phone users of the three major telecommunications companies reached 1.678 billion, showing a net increase of 34.68 million over the end of the previous year. Among others, 5G mobile phone users reached 492 million, with a net increase of 138 million over the end of the previous year, accounting for 29.4% of mobile phone users.
