China Deploying over 7,900 Virtual Private Networks (VPN) for the 5G Industry

China has initially formed a pattern of coordinated development of multiple networks (including NB-IoT, 4G and 5G), with the rising network coverage capacity, according to the Mobile Internet of Things (IoT) Development Report in 2022 recently released by the China Academy of Information and Communications.

Statistics show that the number of NB-IoT, 4G and 5G base stations in China has reached 755,000, 5.937 million and 2.22 million, respectively, with the deployment of over 7,900 VPN of the 5G industry as of September 2022. In this way, a solid foundation has been laid for the innovative development of mobile IoT applications.

Moreover, the report also shows the active innovation of NB-IoT, 4G and 5G application. NB-IoT has formed four 10,000,000-level applications of water meter, gas meter, smoke sensor and tracking, seven million-level applications of white electric appliance, street lamp, parking and agriculture, and numerous emerging applications. In addition, with attentions in many ways, 5G RedCap’s commercial use process has been accelerated under the joint efforts of the industry.
