Number of Terminals Running HarmonyOS 5 Exceeds 14 Million

Updated:2025/9/5 15:06

Richard Yu, Executive Director of Huawei and Chairman of the Consumer BG, announced at yesterday's Huawei Mate XTs Ultimate Master and All-Scenario New Products Launch Event that the number of terminal devices running HarmonyOS 5 has exceeded 14 million, merely 10 days after the previous announcement of 12 million devices.

He stated that he would like to thank every HarmonyOS partner for "jointly creating the HarmonyOS speed," and announced that over 50 devices including the Huawei Mate 70 series and Huawei Mate X6 series now support the upgrade to HarmonyOS 5.1. Users can sign up for the experience through "My Huawei App > Home > Upgrade Preview."

Overall, HarmonyOS 5 is evolving from a "mobile phone system" to an "all-scenario foundation." For developers, HarmonyOS has released three dividends: traffic, interfaces, and payments. For the industrial chain, from PCs and foldable phones to tablets and in-vehicle systems, the distributed capabilities provided by HarmonyOS 5 are reshaping the cooperation space for domestic software and hardware. With more older models set to upgrade to 5.1 in the fourth quarter, it is expected that the number of activated terminals will exceed 50 million within this year, making it a "Chinese solution" for the third-largest mobile ecosystem after iOS and Android.
