Guangdong Communications Administration recently published the provincial communications development statistics by the end of August 2022: The 5G users have reached 55.396 million, a year-on-year increase of 72.9%. This number is among the highest across the country.
The total number of mobile phone users has reached 166.864 million, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%. This indicates that mobile phones have penetrated 131% of the population in Guangdong, given the figure — 127 million — as of 2021.
In addition, the FTTH and FTTO subscribers had reached 42.048 million by the end of August, a year-on-year increase of 6.7%.
