The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC recently released the “Economic Operation Situation of the Communication Industry from January to July 2022” report. The report shows that from January to July, China's telecom business revenue reached 944.2 billion yuan in total, up by 8.3% year on year. The total telecom business turnover calculated at last year's constant price grew by 22.2% year on year.
In the first seven months, in terms of fixed Internet broadband business, the three basic telecom enterprises of China achieved a total revenue of 142.1 billion yuan, up by 9.3% year on year, accounting for 15.1% of the total telecom business revenue; in terms of mobile data plan business, the three basic telecom enterprises achieved a total revenue of 386.5 billion yuan, up by 0.5% year on year, accounting for 40.9% of the total telecom business revenue.
Notably, the revenues of emerging businesses continued to grow fast. The three basic telecom enterprises actively developed emerging businesses such as IPTV, Internet data center, big data, cloud computing and the Internet of Things. From January to July, the total revenue of emerging businesses reached 184.3 billion yuan, up by 35.1% year on year, accounting for 19.5% of the total telecom business revenue.
