Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released Economic Operation of the Communications Industry in January-October 2021. With respect to the development of telecom users, at the end of October, the total number of mobile phone users of three foundation telecommunication enterprises reached 1.641 billion, with a net increase of 46.94 million compared with the end of last year. Among them, 5G mobile terminal connections reached 471 million users, with a net increase of 273 million compared with the end of last year.
Users with access to fixed broadband also show a steady increase; the growth of users of Gigabit broadband has picked up speed. At the end of October, the total number of users with access to fixed broadband of the three foundation telecommunication enterprises reached 531 million, with a net increase of 47.92 million compared with the end of last year. Among them, 490 million users are connected to fixed broadband Internet of 100Mbps and higher speed, accounting for 92.2% of the total, which proportion is 2.4% higher than the end of last year. 25.25 million users are connected to fixed broadband Internet of 1,000Mbps and higher speed, with a net increase of 18.85 million compared with the end of last year.
