China Mobile released its “CMCC Intelligent Hardware Quality Report in 2021 (Phase 1)” recently, presenting its evaluation on three highly representative 5G chips, i.e., Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, MediaTek Dimensity 1200 and Samsung Exynos1080.
As pointed out in the report, after over a year of continuous research on SA deployment, 5G chips can now guarantee high-speed data transmission capability, consistently stable voice calls, and significance progress in power consumption.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and Samsung Exynos1080 came up with a narrow edge in the data sector, but in terms of voice call performance, all three chips can guarantee excellent EPS FB experience. Following this, CMCC is expected to prioritize perfecting the VoNR performance. Lastly, MediaTek Dimensity 1200 took the lead with regards to power consumption, with the other two also showing progress.
