In just two years, Next Generation Optical Transport Network Forum (NGOF) has witnessed significant progress. Its members have increased from 14 at the time of establishment to 40 today, and its working groups have increased from 3 to 6. Tang Xiongyan, the chief scientist of China Unicom Network Technology Research Institute, announced the news at the annual conference of NGOF.
Founded on December 18, 2017, NGOF aims to build a cooperation platform open to all organizations and entities who want to promote the development of optical transport network industry.
At present, members of NGOF include operators, scientific research institutes, equipment manufacturers, module and device manufacturers, chip manufacturers, and optical fiber and cable manufacturers. These members cover a complete upstream and downstream industry chain in the field of optical transmission network. Recently, a number of well-known enterprises at home and abroad have applied for membership.
