At the Management World 2008 in France, ZTE Corporation, a global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, will reveal what it claims as the industry’s first operational end-to-end IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) system with convergent BSS (Business Support Systems)/OSS (Operations Support Systems).
According to the company, ZTE’s IMS system consists of IMS client/terminal, access network, unified core network, universal service platform, and convergent BSS/OSS system. It provides full operational IMS and Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) services support, across fixed-line phone, mobile phone and laptops, including IMS services deployment, provisioning, billing, as well as both online and offline charging.
Some typical IMS services can also be performed including IM (Instant Messaging), PS (Presence), VT (Video Telephony) and DAB (Dynamic Address Book).
To boost its IMS offering, ZTE has been carrying out a series of testing. Last year, it proved the integration of its IMS products with TeleManagement Forum’s New Generation Operations Systems and Software (NGOSS) framework by completing Phase I of ‘Seamless OSS/BSS for IMS services’ in Dallas.
“Our latest IMS system integrated with BSS/OSS features brings the most efficient operation model to the telecom industry and takes operators to a new level of true multi-service convergence,” said Mr. Ye Zheng, general manager of IMS product line for ZTE Corporation.
