According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, telecommunication business revenue reached 1.0431 trillion yuan in the first seven months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 0.7%. The telecommunication business volume, calculated at constant prices from the previous year, grew by 8.9% year-on-year.
By the end of July, the total number of fixed internet broadband access users of the three basic telecommunication enterprises had reached 686 million, with a net increase of 15.79 million since the beginning of the year. Among them, the number of fixed internet broadband access users with an access rate of 100 Mbps or higher reached 652 million, accounting for 95.2% of the total. Users with an access rate of 1000 Mbps or higher reached 228 million, with a net increase of 21.49 million since the beginning of the year, representing 33.3% of the total user base—an increase of 2.4 percentage points compared to the end of last year.
By the end of July, the total number of mobile phone users of the three basic telecommunication enterprises and China Broadcasting Network had reached 1.815 billion, with a net increase of 25.08 million since the beginning of the year. Among them, 5G mobile phone users reached 1.137 billion, with a net increase of 123 million since the beginning of the year, accounting for 62.7% of all mobile phone users. The three basic telecommunication enterprises also developed 2.835 billion mobile IoT terminal users, with a net increase of 179 million since the beginning of the year. The number of internet TV (IPTV, OTT) users reached 411 million, with a net increase of 3.873 million since the beginning of the year.
In the first seven months, mobile internet traffic totaled 220 billion GB, a year-on-year increase of 16.3%. By the end of July, the number of mobile internet users had reached 1.596 billion, with a net increase of 26.32 million since the beginning of the year. The average mobile internet access traffic per user per month (DOU) in July reached 20.91 GB/user·month, a year-on-year increase of 12.9% and 1.21 GB/user·month higher than the end of last year. Mobile outgoing call duration totaled 1.2 trillion minutes, a year-on-year decrease of 5.4%, while fixed-line outgoing call duration reached 40.26 billion minutes, a year-on-year decrease of 10.7%. In the first seven months, national mobile SMS business volume increased by 22.2% year-on-year, while mobile SMS business revenue grew by 1.3% year-on-year.
By the end of July, the number of national internet broadband access ports had reached 1.24 billion, with a net increase of 33.86 million since the beginning of the year. Among them, fiber optic access (FTTH/O) ports reached 1.19 billion, with a net increase of 34.7 million since the beginning of the year, accounting for 96.7% of all internet broadband access ports. The number of 10G PON ports capable of providing gigabit network services reached 30.53 million, with a net increase of 2.328 million since the beginning of the year. The total number of 5G base stations reached 4.598 million, with a net increase of 348,000 since the beginning of the year, accounting for 36% of all mobile base stations—an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared to the first half of the year.
