Tech innovator EHang has proudly announced the successful maiden flight of its EH216-S autonomous electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in Mexico.
This inaugural flight came to fruition following the Mexican Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC)'s issuance of a special airworthiness certificate, granted after a meticulous and comprehensive approval process. This rigorous procedure encompassed the evaluation of technical documentation, extensive ground inspections, operational manual endorsement, crew training, and license certification, all ensuring the EH216-S meets stringent Mexican aviation safety and operational standards.
Recognized as a standout in the low-altitude economy sector, EHang's EH216-S has distinguished itself with remarkable performance metrics. The aircraft features dimensions of 5.73 meters in length and 1.93 meters in height, boasts a flight endurance of 25 minutes, a design range of 30 kilometers, and can reach speeds up to 130 kilometers per hour. This successful first flight signifies EHang's expansion into its 19th country, marking a significant step forward in the global advancement of urban air mobility.
