The Zunjie S800 will debut Huawei's Xinghe Communication System

Updated:2025/2/25 16:29

At the recent HarmonyOS Intelligent Drive Zunjie Technology Launch Event, Richard Yu, Huawei's Executive Director, CEO of the Consumer Business Group, and CEO of the Intelligent Automotive Solution Business Unit, announced that the Zunjie S800 would debut Huawei's Xinghe Communication System. This is the industry's first autonomous intelligent in-car communication system, which deeply integrates satellite communication and terrestrial communication capabilities to create a more stable, efficient, and comprehensive communication network for smart vehicles. The system employs technologies such as intelligent network selection, dual-network standby, and weak network acceleration to comprehensively enhance the communication experience.

Xinghe Communication has proactive intelligent network selection capabilities, allowing it to automatically choose the optimal network from providers such as China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom based on real-time network conditions. When in areas of weak signal, the system preloads maps in advance to ensure uninterrupted navigation. The network switching delay is less than 1.2 seconds, and the signal coverage area is improved by more than 14% compared to traditional methods, ensuring the continuity and stability of communication while the vehicle is in motion.

Xinghe Communication also features innovative distributed in-car satellite communication technology. Taking advantage of the large size and ample power supply of vehicles, the system is equipped with ultra-wide-angle satellite communication equipment, boasting a beam width of 160°. Compared to other in-car satellite communication technologies, it offers a 50% increase in connection speed to satellites and a 20% reduction in call setup time.

In the absence of terrestrial communication networks, the vehicle can continue to use basic functions like phone calls and SMS via the satellite network. Its satellite communication capabilities can also be shared with devices such as smartphones and tablets. Even if users are within 30 meters of the vehicle, they can complete calls through the in-car satellite system. In emergencies, the vehicle can automatically dial a satellite phone to initiate a rescue, providing security for user travel.

The introduction of Huawei's Xinghe Communication System not only offers more reliable signal support for the intelligent driving functions of smart vehicles, but also finds a new application scenario for current satellite communications and subsequent satellite internet—the vehicle-satellite connection.
