The 5G Core Summit, a highly prestigious event in the telecommunications industry, recently concluded in Istanbul, Türkiye. AIS, the Thai telecommunications giant, was honored with the distinguished "5G Network Construction Efficiency Improvement" award, highlighting their groundbreaking achievements in advancing 5G technologies and improving network efficiency.
As early as 2020, AIS took the lead in launching 5G network services in Thailand to serve consumers, governments, and enterprises. AIS pioneered the world's first Model D 5G signaling network, significantly improving network management and O&M efficiency. By simplifying the network topology, AIS greatly reduced the number of network signaling links by more than two-thirds. In addition, AIS implemented the intelligent signaling routing solution to effectively manage more than 10,000 scattered number segments on the entire network, greatly reducing the need for operation and maintenance manpower.
Furthermore, AIS pioneered to finish the 5G SA roaming (with SEPP) testing with leading operators in Europe, Middle-East and America, in order to reinforce the 5G roaming services with upgraded reliability, resiliency and interoperability.
Noppadon Poungsri, Head of Mobile Core Network Planning &Operation at AIS, said, "The '5G Network Construction Efficiency Improvement' award is a testament to AIS's unwavering commitment to delivering superlative network services in Thailand and beyond. To cope with the challenges of complex network architecture and diversified services in the 5G era, our network planning and O&M teams have made great efforts and contributions to improving network reliability and efficiency. This award not only acknowledges our technical prowess, but also proves our unremitting efforts in the past."
AIS will continue its innovative 5G technologies drive to provide better and more convenient network and digital services, thereby creating social value, improving user experience, and increasing enterprise revenues.
