“Report” shows that till March 2020, the size of our country’s Internet users is 904 million which has increased 75.08 million than the number at the end of 2018.
With the intensive implementation of the two projects “Villages Intercommunication” “Common Telecom Service Pilot”, our country’s digital divide is constantly narrowing. Till March 2020, the rural area’s Internet penetration is 46.2% in our country which has risen by 7.8% than the number at the end of 2018. The rural-urban Internet penetration gap has narrowed by 5.9%.
Till March 2020, the size of our country’s cellphone Internet users has reached 897 million which has increased 79.92 million than the number at the end of 2018. In our country, the proportion of Internet users who use cellphones for Internet has reached 99.3% which has risen by 0.7%.
Till March 2020, the size of our country’s rural Internet users is 255 million taking 28.2% of the total number, which increases 33.08 million than the number at the end of 2018; the size of urban Internet users is 649 million taking 71.8% of the total number, which increases 42 million than the number at the end of 2018.
