On the recently held NIO Day 2022, Li Bin, the founder, chairman and CEO of NIO, revealed that “NIO phones are on the way”.
Rumors of NIO phones have long since been heard. Li Bin mentioned earlier that a team was already built for NIO phones, which was expected to develop a new model every year like Apple.
As revealed by some insiders, Yi Wei, former senior vice president of Meitu Mobile, has joined NIO phones as head of the software department. The NIO phones team is said to exceed 300 members, all from famous cellphone makers in the industry.
As a new car-making force, NIO sees moderate development this year in its main business—new energy vehicles. NIO delivered 14,178 vehicles this November, showing a year-on-year growth of 30.3%. From the beginning of 2022 to date, 106,671 vehicles were delivered, with a year-on-year growth of 31.8%.
