On March 4th, during the 2025 Mobile World Congress, China Mobile hosted the AI+SERVICE Forum themed "New Communication, New Terminal, New Service" in Barcelona, Spain, leveraging the GTI Summit. Industry leaders and experts from global operators, equipment manufacturers, terminal vendors, and application providers have gathered to discuss how to use AI technology to drive innovations in communication technologies, terminal devices, and service models, thereby jointly promoting the prosperous development of AI+SERVICE.
Mr. Gao Tongqing, Chairman of GTI, delivered a welcome speech
Mr. Gao Tongqing, Chairman of GTI, attended the forum and delivered a welcome speech. Mr. Gao pointed out that AI is empowering communication to become more intelligent and efficient, driving communication services from"traditional connectivity services" to "intelligent information services". AI-empowered terminal devices, as the bridge connecting users with the digital world, are becoming increasingly intelligent, personalized, and ubiquitous. With the support of AI, terminal devices are able to better understand users’ needs and provide more considerate and convenient services. In addition, driven by AI, new services are continuously reshaping production methods and lifestyles, showing broad development prospects and value. Mr. Gao stated that GTI will continue to work closely with global operators and partners in the fields of AI, terminals, chips, applications, and platforms to jointly explore the huge potential of AI+SERVICE and create a better "AI+" era.
Experts from GSMA Intelligence, Telefonica, Huawei, vivo, Qualcomm, Turkcell, and Leia(sorted by speaking order) delivered keynote speeches. They shared practical insights on how AI is reshaping the form of communication services, empowering terminal intelligence upgrades, and bringing new application experiences. These insights offer new ideas and directions for the intelligent upgrade of global communications industry.
During the forum, China Mobile, together with Huawei, iFlytek, Leia, Qualcomm, Turkcell, vivo, and ZTE (sorted by the first letter), jointly released the "AI + Communication Service White Paper". The white paper analyzes the current application status, technical challenges, and development opportunities of AI in communication services. It elaborates on the new opportunities AI brings to the development of communication services, the new possibilities AI brings to terminals, and the new vitality AI brings to the ecosystem. The release of this white paper aims to provide reference scenarios and development directions for AI + communication services, promote consensus within the industry, and call on all partners across the entire industry chain to collaborate in advancing the development of AI + communication services, offering users more intelligent and higher-quality services.
The “AI+” era is accelerating its arrival. AI is evolving from an auxiliary tool that empowers industries to improve quality and efficiency into a fundamental infrastructure and core capability that drives socio-economic transformation. It is accelerating the upgrade of information consumption, transformation of industrial systems, innovation in intelligent decision-making, and breakthroughs in emerging technologies. The entire industry chain should strengthen technical innovation and industrial cooperation, focus on ethical norms and security safeguards, and promote the widespread application of AI+SERVICE.
