China Mobile announced on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange last night that Yang Jie has resigned as Chairman, effective December 22, 2025.
Upon the recommendation of the Nomination Committee and following deliberation and approval by the Board of Directors, Mr. Chen Zhongyue has been appointed as Executive Director and Chairman of China Mobile, effective from December 22, 2025.
Previously, on October 28, 2025, China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd. held a meeting for mid-level and above management. Officials from the Organization Department of the Central Committee announced the Party Central Committee's decision regarding adjustments to the main leadership of China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd.: Comrade Chen Zhongyue was appointed as Chairman and Party Group Secretary of China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd., and was relieved of his positions as Chairman and Party Group Secretary of China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd.; Comrade Yang Jie was relieved of his positions as Chairman and Party Group Secretary of China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd.
Chen Zhongyue, aged 54, is currently the Chairman of China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd., the ultimate controlling shareholder of China Mobile; and Director and Chairman of China Mobile Communications Co., Ltd. He holds a Master's degree.
