According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), over the past eight months, the number of mobile phone users in China showed a stable increasing trend, 5G user group expanding rapidly. At the end of August, the number of mobile phone users of three foundation telecommunication enterprises reached 1.626 billion, 32.05 million more than late last year. Among others, 5G mobile terminal connections reached 419 million, 220 million more than late last year.
With respect to fixed broadband, the number of users has increased steadily, and the development of Gbps users accelerated. At the end of August, the number of users connected to fixed broadband Internet of three foundation telecommunication enterprises reached 519 million, 35.10 million more than late last year. Among others, users connected to fixed broadband Internet of 100Mbps and faster speed reached 477 million, accounting for 92% of the total, which percentage is 2.1% higher than late last year. Users connected to fixed broadband Internet of 1000Mbps and faster speed reached 18.64 million, 12.24 million more than late last year.
