China's Broadband Download Rate Exceeds 20 MB/s

Recently, the Broadband Development Alliance released the 19th issue of China broadband speed report (first quarter of 2018). According to the report, the average download rate of fixed broadband network in China reached 20.15Mb/s in the first quarter of 2018, it increases 54.9% comparing with the first quarter of 2017. The average download rate of China mobile broadband users using 4G network was up to 19.12 Mb/s. That's 54.3% higher than first quarter of 2017.

In particular, by the end of the first quarter of 2018, the optical fiber broadband users in China accounted for 85.3% out of the total fixed broadband users. Chinese Broadband development has surpassed the world's leading countries such as Japan and South Korea. It has become the first in the world.

This is due to the rapid construction,development of China's fixed-line broadband and 4G network.For example, all the prefectural-Level cities have built complete coverage of the optical fiber network of "optical network cities"; Some cities accelerate construction of gigabit access network ; With the continuous improvement of the telecommunication service,optical fiber coverage target of 98% national administrative villages is about to be achieved.

In terms of mobile network, the number of 4G base stations is nearly 3.4 million. China's 4G network is the largest in the world. The coverage and depth of 4G are also expanding rapidly. According to the broadband alliance, within three years, download speed of our country broadband have risen from 5.12 Mb/s in the first quarter of 2015 to 20.15 Mb/s in the first quarter of this year.
