According to the White Paper on China's Broadband Development 2022 released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), China has constantly expanded its network investment over the past year.
For two consecutive years, there were over 400 billion yuan of construction investment. In 2020 and 2021, China's three basic telecom companies and China Tower respectively made 407.16 and 405.81 billion yuan of investment in fixed assets such as communication networks and data centers, with the investment scale exceeding 400 billion yuan for two years in a row. Of these, the 5G networks received 147.3 and 184.9 billion yuan, accounting for 36.2% and 45.6% of fixed assets investment, respectively.
From January to September 2022, China posted a 294.87 billion investment in telecom fixed assets, up 7.3% year on year, with 139.09 billion yuan invested in 5G. The construction investment was in a high range overall, creating more new growth for upstream and downstream enterprises such as telecom manufacturing, internet and software services under the epidemic.
