In a recent teleconference, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) stated that the test run of the mobile number portability (MNP) system validated its performance and checked its service capacity with an overall satisfying effect. However, in some provincial and municipal telecommunication enterprises, the issue of setting opt-out conditions in violation of rules still exist and their MNP services fall behind the expectations of users. It is demanded that these telecommunication enterprises assume primary responsibility and speed up rectification systematically to provide more convenient and efficient MNP services for users.
To guarantee that the national level MNP service goes smoothly before the end of the month, MIIT will assemble technological forces immediately to launch continuous monitoring of the MNP system in telecommunication enterprises and investigate in secret on user experience via an entrusted third-party. When the MNP service is officially on, MIIT will conduct special supervision and inspection on the service on a national level.
