On November 27, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology released the "2024 October Domestic Mobile Phone Market Operation Analysis Report." According to the report, in October, domestic mobile phone shipments reached 29.674 million units, a year-on-year increase of 1.8%. Among them, 5G phones accounted for 26.722 million units, a year-on-year increase of 1.1%, constituting 90.1% of the total mobile phone shipments during the same period. From January to October, domestic mobile phone shipments totaled 250 million units, a year-on-year increase of 8.9%. Of these, 5G phones accounted for 214 million units, a year-on-year increase of 13.6%, making up 85.5% of the total mobile phone shipments during the same period.
In October, 37 new mobile phone models were launched in the domestic market, a year-on-year decrease of 26.0%. Among them, 22 were 5G models, a year-on-year decrease of 29.0%, accounting for 59.5% of the newly launched mobile phone models during the same period. From January to October, 353 new mobile phone models were launched in the domestic market, a year-on-year decrease of 8.3%. Of these, 186 were 5G models, a year-on-year increase of 1.1%, accounting for 52.7% of the newly launched mobile phone models during the same period.
In October, shipments of domestic brand mobile phones reached 23.458 million units, a year-on-year increase of 30.2%, accounting for 79.1% of the total mobile phone shipments during the same period. There were 37 new models launched, a year-on-year decrease of 24.5%, accounting for 100% of the newly launched mobile phone models during the same period. From January to October, shipments of domestic brand mobile phones totaled 211 million units, a year-on-year increase of 16.7%, accounting for 84.6% of the total mobile phone shipments during the same period. There were 331 new models launched, a year-on-year decrease of 7.0%, accounting for 93.8% of the newly launched mobile phone models during the same period.
