The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Recently responded to Robin Lee, chairman and CEO of Baidu, who put forward the Proposal on Accelerating the Innovation of Unmanned Policies for Automatic Driving. In order to promote the high-quality development of intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with relevant ministries and commissions, has carried out work including deepening pilot demonstration, improving the policy environment, and promoting infrastructure construction.
And next step is to stick to the development strategy of “strengthening the intelligence of individual vehicles and empowering them with the internet” in a bid to promote sustained high-quality development of ICVs in China. First, join hands with government departments including the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development to encourage more pilot programs in more places, thus accelerating the industrialization process of ICVs. Second, speed up the piloting of ICVs access. Third, quicken the infrastructure construction of intelligent transport, creating a good environment for the coordination of vehicles and roads.
