China Telecom announced on September 18 that its controlling shareholder China Telecom Corp., Ltd. was slated to increase the holding of A-shares in the company in due course within 12 months as of September 22, 2021, with the planned amount of no less than CNY 4 billion, as planned earlier. Between September 22, 2021 and September 16, 2022, China Telecom Corp., Ltd. cumulatively embraced additional 985 million A-shares in the company worth CNY 4 billion through centralized bidding via Shanghai Stock Exchange Trading System. Hitting the floor amount set in the plan is indicative of fulfillment of the plan.
Up to September 16, 2022, China Telecom Corp., Ltd. held 58.36 billion A-shares in the company, representing 63.78% of shares issued. Its holding was 0.95% higher than that before the plan was carried out.
