The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) recently released the "Domestic Mobile Phone Market Analysis Report for June 2025." According to the report, domestic mobile phone shipments in June 2025 reached 22.598 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 9.3%. Among these, 5G mobile phone shipments accounted for 18.436 million units, down 16.7% year-on-year, representing 81.6% of total mobile phone shipments during the same period. From January to June, domestic mobile phone shipments totaled 141 million units, a year-on-year decline of 3.9%, with 5G mobile phone shipments reaching 121 million units, down 3.0% year-on-year, accounting for 85.5% of total mobile phone shipments during the period.
In June, 36 new mobile phone models were launched in the domestic market, a year-on-year increase of 28.6%. Among these, 8 were 5G mobile phone models, a year-on-year decrease of 38.5%, accounting for 22.2% of all new models launched during the period. From January to June, 238 new mobile phone models were launched domestically, a year-on-year increase of 10.2%, with 103 of them being 5G mobile phone models, down 14.2% year-on-year, representing 43.3% of all new models launched during the period.
In June, domestic brand mobile phone shipments reached 20.627 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 6.4%, accounting for 91.3% of total mobile phone shipments during the period. Domestic brands launched 34 new models, a year-on-year increase of 21.4%, representing 94.4% of all new models launched in the same period. From January to June, domestic brand mobile phone shipments totaled 122 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 1.3%, accounting for 86.6% of total mobile phone shipments during the period. Domestic brands launched 226 new models, a year-on-year increase of 11.3%, representing 95.0% of all new models launched during the period.
