H1 China Tower's Profit Increases by 14.6%

China Tower held a press conference in Hong Kong to announce that its operating revenue reached 46.461 billion yuan in the first half of 2023, a year-on-year increase of 2.2%. The company made a profit of 4.841 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.6%.

According to the performance report, in the first half of 2023, China Tower's operator business achieved revenue of 40.905 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.1%. Among them, tower business revenue was 37.481 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.9%; indoor distributed antenna system (DAS) business revenue was 3.424 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.4%; smart connection business revenue was 3.386 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 31.0%; energy business revenue was 1.975 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 38.5%.

Zhang Zhiyong, Chairman of China Tower, stated that in the face of new opportunities brought about by the development of the "digital economy" and the "dual-carbon" goals, China Tower continues to enhance its innovation and development capabilities, continuously forge core competitive advantages, and deepen the "one body, two wings" strategy. The "one body" refers to the operator business facing the communications industry, while the "two wings" refer to the smart connection business and energy business that rely on unique resource advantages and serve society. In the first half of 2023, the revenue of the company's "two wings" business reached 5.361 billion yuan, accounting for 11.5% of the operating revenue, an increase of 2.7 percentage points compared to the same period in 2022, further consolidating the development pattern supported by multiple sectors.
