Zhu Yonglei, Deputy Director of the State Administration of Radio and Television, revealed at the 2023 China Radio Conference that the administration has been committed to improving the wireless transmission coverage network of broadcasting and television since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Among them, in the largest-scale terrestrial digital television 700MHz frequency migration project globally, it involves the frequency migration of over 6,300 stations and the procurement and installation of tens of thousands of new transmitters.
It is estimated that by the end of 2023, the project will be fully completed. After the migration is completed, the State Administration of Radio and Television will accelerate the construction of a new broadcasting and television multi-channel transmission coverage network, advocating mobile network priority, integration of wired, wireless, 5G, and satellite communications, promoting the digitization of wireless broadcasting, and advancing the integration and development of traditional transmission systems with technologies such as broadcasting and television 5G, broadband communication, and connected vehicles.
