China National Data Group Co., Ltd. was officially inaugurated on October 20.
The group, headquartered in Xiong'an New Area, Hebei Province, is a central state-owned enterprise focused primarily on developing and utilizing data resources. It ranks 28th on the roster of central SOEs, bringing the number of enterprises supervised by SASAC, the State Council's state assets regulator, to 100.
The move follows the creation of the National Data Administration in 2023. The new group is tasked with advancing the development and use of data resources, unlocking the value of data as a production factor, supporting AI development and nurturing a thriving data industry ecosystem.
