stc group has launched phase two of its feature, introducing a commercial pilot that enables real-time Arabic-English translation during voice calls for selected customers in Riyadh.
The service allows callers to speak in their native language while receiving an instant translation of the other party’s speech. The system adapts to the context and nature of each call, according to the company.
How the New Calling Translation Works
The feature runs on network-level low-latency processing combined with secure voice network intelligence. Speech models optimized for both Arabic and English power the translation, delivering context-aware output during live calls.
stc group said the system integrates Large Language Models (LLMs) to handle natural speech patterns. The company added that privacy and information security standards are maintained throughout each call.
Pilot Scope and Eligible Users
The pilot is currently live for a selected group of customers in Riyadh. It builds on an initial milestone that stc group first announced in 2024, marking the second phase of the broader New Calling initiative.
The service targets both residents and visitors, covering use cases that range from business negotiations to everyday conversations. stc group said the pilot aims to improve communication across diverse user segments in the Kingdom.
Expansion Plans and Future Languages
stc group said the phase two pilot will expand gradually over the coming months. The rollout timeline depends on user feedback collection and performance assessments conducted during the current pilot period.
The company plans to introduce additional languages and new capabilities as part of the expansion. A nationwide rollout is also planned, though stc group did not specify a target date for full deployment.
