Recently, at a press conference on the development of industry and information technology in the first half of 2023, Zhao Zhiguo, the spokesperson and chief engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, announced that in the first six months, the revenue of the telecommunications industry grew by 6.2%, and the overall business volume increased by 17.1% compared to the previous year. China has cumulatively built and opened 2.937 million 5G base stations, with 676 million households using 5G mobile phones and over 2.12 billion users of mobile Internet of Things (IoT) terminals.
Regarding the empowerment of the transformation and upgrading of the real economy, 5G applications have been integrated into 60 major sectors of the national economy, accelerating their expansion and deepening in key areas such as industry, healthcare, education, and transportation. The cumulative number of application cases has exceeded 50,000. The "Hundred Cities, Thousand Parks" initiative for industrial internet has made significant progress, with over 270,000 companies benefiting from the identification resolution system, and more than 240 industrial internet platforms with significant influence.
