According to information from China Telecom's Sunshine Procurement Network, the evaluation for the procurement of OLT equipment for China Telecom Shanghai Company's 50G-PON coverage construction project in 2025 has been completed.
For Bid Package 1, the winning candidates are: First candidate: Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., with a bid price of 18,641,782.83 yuan (excluding tax); Second candidate: FiberHome Telecommunication Technologies Co., Ltd., with a bid price of 17,269,200 yuan (excluding tax); Third candidate: ZTE Corporation, with a bid price of 17,499,948 yuan (excluding tax).
For Bid Package 2, the winning candidates are: First candidate: ZTE Corporation, with a bid price of 5,928,000 yuan (excluding tax); Second candidate: FiberHome Telecommunication Technologies Co., Ltd., with a bid price of 7,300,800 yuan (excluding tax).
According to the earlier tender announcement, this project involves the procurement of 175 sets of 50G-PON OLT equipment. The number of winning bidders for both Bid Package 1 and Bid Package 2 is one, and bidders are allowed to win a maximum of one bid package. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Huawei and ZTE have secured the contracts.
Since the beginning of this year, China Telecom Shanghai has been procuring 50G-PON equipment intensively to accelerate the pilot deployment of 10-gigabit optical networks. The recently concluded National Conference on Industry and Information Technology also proposed launching the "Broadband Upgrade" initiative and carrying out a new round of 10-gigabit optical network pilots.
