The National Development and Reform Commission (“NDRC”) has issued the central government budgetary investment plan for 2023, which will kickstart its support for more than 100 small and medium-sized cities from 11 central and western provinces and northeastern provinces in China in building their 5G and gigabit optical networks and other basic networks.
Going forward, the NDRC will step up efforts in establishing infrastructure networks in small and medium-sized cities in the central and western regions. It will speed up the construction of new infrastructure, coordinate the development of the regional economy, and help promote urbanization with a focus on county towns.
