Recently, six departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) officially released the Guidelines on Promoting the Development of the Energy Electronics Industry. The Guidelines specify that by 2030, new generation information technologies such as 5G/6G, advanced computing, artificial intelligence, and industrial Internet will be widely used in the energy sector.
The Guidelines further point out that by 2025, breakthroughs will be made in industrial technology innovation; the level of upgrading of industrial foundations and modernization of industrial chains will be significantly enhanced; the industrial ecosystem will be basically established. The supply capacity of high-end products will be increased significantly, and the application of technology integration will be accelerated. The energy electronics industry will effectively support the large-scale application of new energy and grow into an important force in driving the energy revolution. By 2030, the energy electronics industry will see continued growth of its comprehensive strength and an industry scale adapted to new energy demand at home and abroad. As industrial clusters and ecosystems continue to improve, new generation information technologies such 5G/6G, advanced computing, artificial intelligence, and industrial internet will be widely used in the energy sector, developing a number of world-class energy electronics enterprises while further completing the discipline construction and personnel training systems. The energy electronics industry will become a key driver for achieving peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality.
In addition. MIIT will promote the synergistic and integrated development of the entire energy and electronics industry chain by balancing the supply and demand sides, reinforcing the synergistic development across the industry chain, and further improving the support system for technological innovation.
