Earlier the National Bureau of Statistics disclosed industrial statistics in the first 5 months of 2022. This May saw a YoY uptick of 0.7% in the total value added of all industrial enterprises above the designated size (what follows are measured in nominal terms, deducting price factors), comparative to MoM growth of 5.61%. From January to May 2022, the total value added of all industrial enterprises above the designated size rose 3.3% from a year earlier.
By product, 27.5 billion integrated circuits were produced in the month, indicating YoY decline of 10.4%; and January-May IC production fell 6.2% (134.9 billion). Mobile phone production in May and in the first five months slid 4.6% (126,660,000) and 1.7% (608,710,000) respectively. Smartphone production went down 6.3% (97.95 million) and 0.7% (470,130,000) in May and in the first five months respectively.
