Meng Wanzhou has been officially named as Huawei’s Rotating Chairwoman, while Guo Ping has been elected as the company’s Chairman of the Supervisory Board, according to Huawei's official website. Meng will also retain her role as Chief Financial Officer when her turn to take office arrives.
It is also worth noting that Huawei bestows the supreme leadership authority to the incumbent rotating chairperson over a cycle of six months, requiring him/her to preside over the company's Board of Directors and the Standing Committee of the Board of Directors.
On March 31, Huawei also announced that its rotating chairperson system will put Hu Houkun next in line for the rotating chairman role for the Apr. 1 – Sept. 30 tenure. Following this rotation, Meng’s upcoming incumbency is expected to begin this time next year.
