Speaking at the "China Mobile & Huawei 5G-Advanced Innovation Industry Summit" dated August 3, Gao Tongqing, Assistant GM of China Mobile, said China Mobile had co-launched the "5G-Advanced Action Plan" with its partners earlier in the day. Based on 5G-Advanced chains--innovation chain and industry chain, China Mobile plans to cooperate with its partners to integrate goals and key moves in the action to utmost intensity of connectivity, create new drivers to innovation and lower the threshold of the industry, in a bid to inject greater power of 5G to social digital transformation and high-quality development.
Earlier in April 2021, 3GPP confirmed the term "5G-Advanced" officially as the 5G evolution, marking a new stage for the progress of the world's 5G technologies and standards in history. Mr. Gao specified three goals in the action plan: outstanding networks, smart lifestyles with intelligence and simplification, low carbon but high efficiency.
At the critical stage of scale development in the global 5G industry and advancement in industrial digital transformation, Mr. Gao added, China Mobile is willing to share its own practices and solutions and build a global consensus over the industry based on open partnership, so as to boost 5G-Advanced standardization with joint effort.
To achieve the goals of the action plan, Mr. Gao offered three proposals: one, co-define standards through deep integration; two, focus on needs and make innovation breakthroughs with concerted effort; three, set a paradigm for driving the progress of industry.
