On April 19, at the State Council’s routine policy briefing held by the State Council Information Office, Liu Yu-lin, head of the Information and Communication Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said in response to reporters that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will continue to attach great importance to encouraging and guiding private investment, and actively implement the work of introducing private capital into the telecommunications field. In accordance with the principle of "Less Restrictions, More Encouragement, Loose Entry and Strict Management", relevant policies will be formulated to fully support the entry of private enterprises for businesses that are positioned accurately, in line with the direction, and suitable for open competition.
According to Liu Yu-lin, the executive meeting of the State Council recently deployed the next step of broadband access network services, requiring to appropriately lower the entry barriers for access network services, support the participation of private enterprises, and promote the reduction of expenses through fair market competition. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will resolutely implement the deployment of the meeting, accelerate the commercialization of private enterprises into the broadband access market, stimulate market vitality, and promote expenses reduction by introducing competition.
