According to the official announcement of China Unicom, by February 20, the company has put 64,000 5G base stations into run, expanding the coverage of 5G network to all the municipalities, major provincial capitals and major cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River delta and the Greater Bay area.
China Unicom will require its provincial companies to accelerate the construction of 5G network, in the purpose of completing the construction of 100,000 base stations in 47 regions and cities in the first half of this year and 250,000 base stations across the nation by the end of the third quarter, and thereby reach the annual goal a quarter early.
